Cover Reveal: The Shining Girls

The South African cover for The Shining Girls by Lauren Beukes has just been unveiled. The cover art by Joey Hi-Fi is simply stunning. While I like the cover for the HarperCollins edition I think this one just beats it by a hair.

Cover for SA Paperback edition

THE SHINING GIRLS by Lauren Beukes
Release date: 15 April 2013
ISBN: 9781415202012 (paperback) / 9781415203972 (limited edition hardcover)

In Depression-era Chicago, Harper Curtis finds a key to a house that opens on to other times. But it comes at a cost. He has to kill the shining girls: bright young women, burning with potential. He stalks them through their lives across different eras, leaving anachronistic clues on their bodies, until, in 1989, one of his victims, Kirby Mazrachi, survives and starts hunting him back.

There will also be a signed limited edition hardcover (ISBN: 9781415203972)) sporting a very fetching black cover. Only a thousand of these will be published so if you are keen on one it's best to pre-order your copy today.

You can even request a dedication! They ship internationally at an affordable price. If you want a personalised copy contacting them would be your best bet.

UK AND US EDITIONS

If you don't live in South Africa, fear not! HarperCollins will be releasing an edition in the UK and Australia and Mulholland Books will handle things for the US. The downside is that you will have to wait a tad longer for that elusive release date to arrive.

And finally, if the covers aren't enticing enough the teaser trailer might just change your mind.

    1. The only cover I don't really like is the US edition. All the rest are stunning.
